Ryan Eades picked up his first win of the Arizona Fall League, as the Surprise Saguaros beat the Salt River Rafters 3-1 in Arizona Fall League action on Wednesday. He came into the game in the fourth inning and issued walk while not allowing a hit in his inning of work. Eades appeared in two games this past season with the Rochester Red Wings in May and June. In those games he went 2-0 with an ERA of 1.13.
Eades was selected in the second round of the 2013 draft by the Minnesota Twins out of LSU. So far in his brief career he’s worked his way up to the Triple-A level, but spent most of the 2017 season playing for the Chattanooga Lookouts of the Southern League. Overall in both Double-A and Triple-A, Eades went 6-3 with an ERA of 3.40. He doesn’t seem to be a power strikeout pitcher yet, but seems to be working his way into Rochester in 2018.
There are three Syracuse Chiefs currently participating in the Arizona Fall League. Eades is the lone representative of Rochester. We will be keeping track of all and highlighting their performances as the AFL season moves on.
Dakota Bacus played for the Syracuse Chiefs during the 2015 season but hasn’t made it back since. He appeared in the Mesa Solar Sox game on Wednesday in the season opener. He pitched a perfect 1.1 innings with a strikeout in the loss.
